Context
Tapcheck needed to onboard a major enterprise client with one key requirement: let employees purchase Prizeout gift cards using earned wages.
I led product design zero-to-one, partnering with our head of product, PMs, and engineering to deliver designs within a week, then iterated to production.
Problem
No checkout experience existed for purchasing gift cards with earned wages. Users needed a familiar, confidence-inspiring payment flow.
• Transaction must shift between Prizeout and Tapcheck platforms seamlessly
• Engineering required a modular architecture for future extensibility
Approach
Designed a modular checkout flow inspired by Apple Pay and familiar fintech patterns (DoorDash, UberEats). Focused visual hierarchy on what users verify: item value, cost breakdown, payment method, and total.
Mapped a clean user journey from Tapcheck homescreen to Prizeout to payment completion.
Impact
• Closed 100K-employee enterprise deal
• 2,850 transactions in first year post-launch
• Introduced a scalable checkout flow reusable for future enterprise sales
Increased user confidence through familiar UX patterns validated by research and testing.
