Problem: Meme communities aren't providing the tools to make remixed memes effectively.
Project Goal: Analyze the meme community and competition to better understand what meme super users need and want. Understand their pain points
Context
I joined the team when they had a product, however we worked as a team to redesign the entire UI.
Marketing played a huge role in this product, we applied multiple social channels for growth. Tiktok and youtube app reviews from influencer types were the most effective in driving traffic however we were having retaining users and getting users to post.
Research Summary

- Reddit, kapwing, mematic were leading competitors
- People like no login for meme creation
- Shareability is important
- Gif selection is important (giphy)
Challenges
- Users aren't posting memes in the feed
- Login page success is very low
- We need to understand why this is happening? and create a solution for it.
- We updated onboarding
- Redesigned the login page to favor logging in quickly
- Created a way to make a meme immediately without logging in (web share link)
